Who We Are
W W Metal Products is a machine/fab shop located centrally in Texarkana, TX. George Walker founded the company in the late 1970’s while recovering from a car wreck that left him a paraplegic. Two of his earliest customers were Texana Tank Car and GE Railcar Texarkana. He was known for his ingenuity and his willingness to do whatever it took to get the job done. Mr. Walker experienced further health issues, and his son, Randal Walker, joined the business in 1988. Soon thereafter the company purchased its first CNC machine. In the late ‘90’s the decision was made to concentrate on the railcar industry. In 2004, Randal Walker purchased the company from his father. Today, over 98% of the company’s business is railcar related. While the majority of that work focuses on parts for tank cars, the company also makes parts for hopper cars and box cars. The company now has fourteen CNC machines and a full complement of conventional machines located in a 35,000 square feet manufacturing facility.
